Tenango, Hidalgo. The walls came down. The walls went out. The walls went up. The roof went on. We rejoice with Pastor Nico and all the village with the increase that God is providing in this village.
Just a few years ago, when we met Nico’s mother, Agripina, she shared her testimony and how she prayed daily that God would send someone to help spread the message of His great love to the surrounding villages. I remember vividly the sense that fellow missionary Charles Middlebrooks and I shared-that we are not here by accident. She had built on extra rooms in her house in anticipation of those who would come. A medical outreach, a classroom addition, a pastor house addition and a church expansion project later, we thank God for the way he is using this village to be a blessing to others.
As I write this, Pastor Nico is on his way back from training in Matamoros with Juan Roque, better equipped to serve. Tenango has become a key village in housing other national pastors to receive training to serve in other Aztec church plants.
At the end of April a group from Brazospointe Fellowship in Lake Jackson, Texas, funded and traveled down to Tenango to put a new roof on the recently expanded church building. In addition, with the help of translators from the Spanish-speaking church in Brownsville, dramas and teachings were shared by the group. Well done! They were able to work with the new children’s minister in Tenango, Julieta, who continues to receive training and support from BLFM. Before the church building expansion, the worship services saw filled pews, people sitting in the open windows, standing outside the windows and outside the back door to worship. Let’s pray for the same “problem”. |
