Oxtomal.  Just over 10 years ago the Jesus Video was shown in this village.  When a few wanted to know more they were chased out with machetes.

With no place to live, BLFM helped acquire a new plot for those who lost their homes.  Fast forward.  With over 60 members and a church that is self-supporting thanks to the furniture-building skills of the local pastor and some local members, we praise God for the growth that we have been privileged to witness.

For the last few months, Pastor Fernando and other members of the church plant  have been busy building a classroom addition and a pastor’s house to facilitate their work in the local community.  On June 4, a group from Lake Jackson, Texas, plans to travel down to Oxtomal to finish out the construction project by building the interior walls, installing the doors, windows and electrical wiring.  They will be accompanied by a group prepared to present a VBS with the help of some translators from the Spanish-speaking church in Brownsville.  A small medical and dental clinic will be going on simultaneously to work in sharing the “two-handed” gospel.  On Sunday, June 5, a joint celebration is planned with the members of Tenango, Tenexco, Taxicho and other church plants to celebrate at Oxtomal with the group from Lake Jackson.
